Description

The PDZSTA-KB program aims to develop a special zone dedicated to agro-industrial processing in the Koulikoro region and the peri-urban area of ​​Bamako. Its objectives are to create favorable conditions for private investment in agro-parks, strengthen local processing of agricultural products, add value to local raw materials, reduce agri-food imports, and improve food and nutritional security in Mali. The program includes land development, infrastructure (roads, water, sanitation, electricity, fiber optics), a one-stop shop for businesses, support for promising sectors, capacity building for young people and women, as well as governance, land management, and private investment promotion measures.

Objectives

• Increased agro-industrial processing Promote private investment and the development of processing units in the area to add value to local agricultural products. • Developed support infrastructure Develop an agro-park and the necessary infrastructure (roads, water, electricity, telecommunications) to accommodate processing businesses. • Opening up agricultural value chains and reducing imports Reduce dependence on agri-food imports, increase local added value, and improve the competitiveness of agricultural sectors. • Social inclusion and environmental sustainability Strengthen the capacities of youth and women, promote sustainable agricultural practices and land management, and prevent migration.
