Description

The Tekki Ndawñi Agri-Youth program is a nationwide initiative designed to respond massively to the problem of unemployment and underemployment among young people in rural areas. Its intervention strategy is based on the agri-entrepreneurship paradigm: transforming subsistence farming into a profitable and modern entrepreneurial activity. By specifically targeting agricultural, forestry, pastoral, and fisheries value chains, the project aims to build a favorable ecosystem where young rural people have access not only to land and financing, but also to the technical and managerial skills necessary to sustain their businesses. The goal is to shift from a social assistance model to one of sustainable economic investment.

Objectives

Socio-professional integration of rural youth To enable young rural people aged 15 to 35, who are often excluded, to access productive and decent jobs in the agricultural, forestry, pastoral and fishing sectors. Modernization of agricultural and fisheries value chains Promote the adoption of innovative, resilient practices (including in the face of climate change), improve market access, and increase the productivity and competitiveness of young agripreneurs. Generation of sustainable jobs To provide 35,000 decent jobs, 50% of which will benefit young women, contributing to the economic empowerment of rural youth. Creation and strengthening of viable agricultural businesses Supporting the emergence of 25,000 viable businesses in the targeted sectors, with a sustainable structure.
